CHIT CHAT - ELLY HOSKIN

Words: Elly Hoskin

This offseason has been rocky. I have been rehabilitating my foot since the last Enduro World Cup in Chatel, France. A lot of time was spent in the gym, especially after surgery, where I was doing everything I could to maintain some fitness. I’m five months post-surgery now and will be racing this year with some fancy hardware in my foot, but I am happy to say I’m near 100 percent. It’s been quite the test, but I’m beginning to tick off trails and features, and the stoke to start going fast is coming back quickly. Not being able to race the last World Cup in 2023 left me first, devastated, and second, hungry for redemption this season.

Over the summer, I will be racing the Enduro World Cup circuit again, semi-privateering, and shooting for that overall title and my first win. However, I am most excited about Canadian Enduro Nationals; Sun Peaks is my all-time favourite venue and I missed that stop on the CEL circuit last season. I plan to race DH nationals there as well, maybe some new Crankworx events in Whistler, and going back to my roots and dabbling in a little XC again! It is going to be a full-on season with racing, squeezing in adventures wherever I can, and coaching when I am back in Squamish. Can’t wait to see what pans out this season - it’s going to be a good one.
